Do you don pantyhose or long pants to hide your legs because of spider veins? Your legs don’t have to be covered  in purple, blue or red because The Vein Guys® have a Total Vein Care Solution.

Spider veins are small purple, blue or red dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin. They tend to appear on the face, nose and cheeks but are more commonly associated with the thighs, and calves of the legs and  around the ankles. Spider vein treatments have advanced tremendously in recent years. Today there are newer, very effective and safe technologies that vanquish spider veins easier, faster and with less pain than ever before.

Although we tend to think of spider veins as a cosmetic problem many patients will be astonished to know there may be an underlying cause that has created the spider veins. If this cause is vein disease or venous reflux, most insurances will cover your treatment. Our vein surgeon advises an evaluation and/or ultrasound test to establish whether or not your spider veins are cosmetic in nature or could be a result of venous insufficiency.

Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Occasionally, patients present with deep saphenous tributaries below the skins surface. These veins may not be good candidates for radiofrequency ablations and our trained professionals may determine that the best treatment for these veins is ultrasound guided sclerotherapy. Under the guidance of ultrasound imaging (high frequency sound waves and their echoes used to create pictures of the inside of the body) a needle delivers a small dose of medication (a sclerosant) to shrink these veins.
